Sessions move from hand feel to rhythm, so beginners leave with muscle memory and a small finished sample. Cotton cords are measured, tensioned, and finished with clean edges so your first piece can hang at home without apology.

See wall hangingsCrafting Airdrops Studio sits on Linnankatu in central Turku. Wednesdays through Sundays we keep the atelier open for workshops, quiet practice seats, and short consultations. Bring questions about cord weight, color, or a hallway measurement — we answer in English with the same care we give to knots.
About the atelierMacramé rewards patience more than perfection. Below, the same dowel line appears twice: once as measured strands waiting for pattern, once as a squared panel ready for the wall. In class we pause between rows so you can see how tension changes the silhouette.
Crafting Airdrops Studio grew from a love of textile structure and the calm of slow making. Turku’s light and compact city center make it easy to keep an atelier that feels both local and open to visitors. We work mostly in natural cotton, with occasional plant-dyed accents, and we keep tools simple: scissors, measuring tape, sturdy dowels, and clear diagrams on the wall.
Whether you arrive for a first square-knot evening or return to finish a commission, the room is set for focus. Music stays low. Tea is available. You leave with cord dust on your sleeves and a clearer sense of how knots become architecture for soft material.
